    Is there any difference in using either of the urls?
    http://edn.redswoosh.net/http://www.mydomain.com/myvideo.wmv
    or
    http://edn.redswoosh.net/mydomain.com/myvideo.wmv
    (without http://www.)

    Is any preferred over the other?

    There is no difference between the two and both work fine
